Description
A current limitation of femtosecond laser cataract surgery (FLACS) is the inability to perform this procedure in eyes with small pupils. We describe here an easy-to-learn technique for utilizing a novel hinged pupil expansion device (I-Ring, Beaver Visitec International, Waltham, MA) for safely achieving a 7-mm diameter pupil, enabling FLACS, and facilitating phacoemulsification.
