Description
Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) increases the rate of complications from cataract surgery including iris trauma, capsular tears, and vitreous loss. Ideally, an iris retraction device should be placed prior to the capsulorhexis step to avoid accidental anterior capsule tears. In this video, practical maneuvers for managing the unexpected pupil constriction after capsulorhexis will be detailed.
