Each October, National Sight Week celebrates the impact of volunteerism on the lives of thousands of patients across
the country. You are invited to join in the celebration!
This year’s 5th National Sight Week will be held October 18-October 24.
Launched in 2014,
Operation Sight focuses its efforts on helping uninsured and underinsured patients, who often face unemployment and financial constraints as a result of impaired vision. The program matches
eligible patients with volunteer surgeons who provide cataract surgery at no cost. Operation Sight offers the administrative support needed to determine eligibility and streamline the processes for practices.
To date, Operation Sight has helped deliver over 4,600 charitable surgeries to American patients in need!
We are proud and inspired by the diverse ways in which our volunteers contribute. Their compassion, expertise and
dedication make our mission possible. Even amidst the multiple challenges that 2020 has posed, we are excited to harness the collective power and heart of the ophthalmology community for National Sight Week.
National Sight Week offers an opportunity for surgeons and staff nationwide to give back to their communities
by harnessing the life-altering power of ophthalmology. Volunteer with Operation Sight, and join a unified team of surgeons, administrators and staff working to improve lives.
Stay tuned for future updates as we unveil new Operation Sight volunteer and program awareness opportunities to assist
in your local communities.
