We aim to highlight the unique advantages of an asymmetric refractive multifocal IOL in patients with existing pathology that may have been otherwise excluded from surgical presbyopia correction.
Maculopathy, forme fruste keratoconus, aphakia, dry eye, and other relative contraindications to a diffractive optic may still allow for high quality vision with an asymmetric refractive design.
